2023 Key FEDTalks: Inclusive Leadership: An Alternative to Traditional DEI

March 22, 2023 3:00 PM - 4:30 PM (EDT)

Description

We need to re-write the book on how we think about and practice Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) within organizations. Research shows that traditional DEI endeavors are not working. Burnout, disengagement, and resistance to customary DEI-based efforts are rampant. Due to these limitations and because of our changing times, organizations need leaders with an advanced understanding of how to create spaces that first and foremost foster inclusion, belonging, and connection. This session describes the limitations of traditional DEI and how to forge a new path with a more nuanced, holistic analysis of people and culture. As an emerging innovative approach, Inclusive Leadership teaches leaders at all levels how to “reset” with a personal strategy to use within organizations to address division, foster connection, and create change.
